There are moments in a coaching career that stay with you long after the final whistle. The conversations that changed how you think. The players who reminded you why you started. The days when everything you believed about football and people came together in the same moment.
My time at Newcastle United Women gave me all of those things.
Leaving a club is never simple. Anyone who tells you otherwise hasn't invested enough of themselves in the environment they're walking away from. I invested everything I had into this one — and I leave proud of what we built together.
What I'll Take With Me
I arrived at Newcastle United Women with a clear philosophy and a relentless belief that elite environments don't build themselves. They are designed. They are demanded. They are maintained every single day — not just on matchdays, not just when results are good, but in every conversation, every session, every decision that nobody outside the building ever sees.
What I found was a group of players and staff who were ready to meet that standard.
The work we did together — the culture we built, the standards we set, the environment we created — those things don't disappear when I walk out of the door. They live in the players who experienced them. They live in the coaches who worked alongside me. They live in every young woman who came through that programme and left with a clearer understanding of what she was capable of.
That is the legacy that matters most to me.
To the Players
You gave me everything.
Your trust, your effort, your honesty, and your willingness to be challenged every single day — that is not something every group of players offers their coach. You offered it freely and consistently, and I will be grateful for that for the rest of my career.
Every one of you has a future in this game. Back yourselves. Hold the standard. Never settle for good enough when you know you're capable of great.
You know who you are. You know what you can do. Go and do it.
To the Staff
The people who make a football club function are rarely the ones who receive the recognition. The hours they put in, the problems they solve before anyone else knows they exist, the quiet professionalism they bring to every single day — I saw all of it.

To the Club
Newcastle United Women deserves to be at the highest level of the women's game. I believe that with complete conviction. The city, the fanbase, the history — everything about this club demands elite football.
That day is coming. I hope it comes soon.
What Comes Next
I have spent a lot of time over recent months thinking about what the next chapter looks like. What challenge would push me further than I've been pushed before. What opportunity would demand the very best version of my coaching.
I found it.
I'm not quite ready to share the details yet — but what I can tell you is that this decision was not made lightly, and it was not made without complete conviction. Something presented itself that aligned perfectly with everything I believe about football, about coaching, and about where I want to take my career.
It is bold. It is exciting. And it is everything BETTER•EVERY•DAY should look like in practice.
A Final Thought
Twenty plus years in this game has taught me many things. But the lesson I return to most often is the simplest one — the environments you build and the people you build them with are the only things that truly last.
Newcastle United Women — thank you for the environment. Thank you for the people. Thank you for everything.
